Kuhnhenn Brewing started in a family hardware store in Warren, Michigan. These are the people who still make the beer and run the place.
Eric founded Kuhnhenn Brewing in 1998 with his brother Bret and opened the doors in 2001. Before the brewery, the family hardware store was already selling homebrew supplies, so the move to making beer for everyone came naturally.
The brewery still operates out of that former hardware store, and it has become known for high-gravity experimental beers, meads, wines, and ciders.
Bret runs Kuhnhenn Brewing alongside his brother Eric. The two built the brewery inside the family's former hardware store, opening in Warren in 2001.
Two decades on, the brewery has grown to a second taproom in Clinton Township, with the same family behind it.
Dan spent more than ten years as a software engineer before beer became his full-time job. Along the way he was an avid homebrewer, active in the CRAFT Homebrew Club, the Sons of Liberty Homebrew Club, and the Malty Dogs Homebrew Club.
He joined Kuhnhenn by working in Brewing World, the brewery's former homebrew supply shop, for a year and a half. During COVID he took over brewing and distilling operations, and today he is Kuhnhenn's head brewer, making the beer that ends up in your glass.

Alyssa has been a fixture of our Warren taproom for years, and as a manager she keeps the floor running smoothly. She knows our beer list, our regulars, and the building as well as anyone on the team.

Bryan is another longtime member of the Warren crew. As a manager he helps guide the staff, the service, and the day-to-day flow of the taproom, and plenty of guests know him by name.
